Climb Ev'ry Mountain ~ An English teacher's blog~

just a memorandum of what I learn

Oigawa railway trip

We came to central Shizuoka prefecture, aiming for taking an old steam locomotive, one of our elder son's interests.

The most memorable moment came when I was holding him to show the scenery through a local train's front window. He said suddenly and clearly, "When I grow up, I wanna be a train driver."  It was too sudden to think twice, and I answered, "Oh you might have to study a lot."
Now I know this was not the best answer. I should have encouraged him to pursue his cute little dream.

But anyway, I was so impressed, for this was the very first time for him to put his own dream into words.
